I cannot say enough good things about the Good Dog Spot. We have been bringing our pup to them for daycare and boarding for almost 10 years. His wiggles and tail wags at every drop off are everything. In fact, a few rare schedule issues caused us to have to take him to another day care a couple of times and he would not get out of the car or walk in. That’s not the case with the good dog spot! We have been boarding and taking our pup to daycare at The Good Dog Spot for the last couple of years and couldn't be more pleased! The owner and the staff all do a great job and are super responsive and flexible. They all really seem to like dogs and are knowledgeable about them as well. The system for reserving boarding is easy and quick. Our dog loves the days that he goes for daycare and comes home happy and tired from all his fun. We absolutely love The Good DoG Spot. All of the staff have loved our pups like they are their own. The facility is always clean and safe for our pup. One of our pups had a serious medical condition and they always accommodated her needs and communicated well with us regarding her days. Up until our sweet girl passed she loved going here. She would wiggle her butt all the way in the door. Our new guy loves his daycare days just as much as our sweet girl did, also does the wiggles all the way in. The setup of this daycare is wonderful and they pay attention to the environment. But, if your dog has any special needs, I would look elsewhere. We split up or pup’s time between this daycare and another in our town. Our dog is 100% deaf and doesn’t hear commands. However, he is very responsive to hand gestures. This was discussed upon our dog starting there and staff ensured that this wouldn’t be problematic. We soon discovered that it was. Any time he was picked up from school, we were told that he was being a problem due to not “listening” to commands and more often than not, would end up being crated. He is not a volatile dog nor has temperamental issues. He’s just doesn’t hear. When asked about his being crated, staff would change their story as to how long. They would start by saying that he was put in a crate for a minute, then it would change to a few minutes then would change again, to 10 minutes. They began to question whether or not he was actually unable to hear and assumed he was just difficult. When we would ask about the difficulties he posed, it always came down to that he wouldn’t “listen.” Meanwhile at his other daycare in our town, he has been nominated as the school’s Welcome Dog and often teams up with newer, anxious pups to help them acclimate. I used to go the the old spot on Jerome ave. I couldn’t anymore because my son is a competitive swimmer and now that’s where my time go s. I decided to try the new spot during off season. I was met by an employee at the door. I asked if the fee had changed I was told yes. Used to be 5 bucks now 8 I didn’t have enough cash but went out to my car to get more. While looking for it she said do you have the shot record since it’s been a while. I said I can have my vet send them over. Meanwhile she kept checking her watch. She then said “you know it’s over in 40 minutes “. I said “ur supposed to encourage me not discourage me”. Strike 3 for me. She goes daily for doggy daycare and is well loved by the staff. I used to use a different groomer , but since Emily has been there, we began using her. We currently have our new rescue dog taking Family Dog Foundation with Claudia. Claudia is a good teacher. We took our previous rescue dog elsewhere. I got very frustrated with them when they could only teach things one way. Claudia is very patient and is good at troubleshooting different behaviors. We are very happy with our dogs training so far. You would never guess that we have only had her 6 weeks. We have gotten a lot of compliments on her behavior and training. HI I AM STORMY'S MOM. I TAKE MY GERMAN SHEPHERD, STORM, 3 TIMES A WEEK TO THE GOOD DOG SPOT. SHE HAS SO MUCH FUN AND GETS PLENTY OF ATTENTION. SHE COMES HOME EXHAUSTED. I LOVE THIS DOGGIE DAY CARE. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN MY JOB KEEPS ME LATE, I JUST CALL THE OWNER AND SHE, WITHOUT ANY RESERVATIONS, DRIVES MY STORM HOME. SHE MAKES SURE STORM IS SAFE AND SOUND.
